Blue-sky thinking wins the day!

This client bought a pokey old apartment in a beautiful beachside location and wanted a stylish update. Only problem was they couldn't agree on what they wanted (it happens!). I stepped in and suggested a new concept that brought in a navy colour palette that referenced the ocean surrounds - we had a deal! I knocked down walls to open up the kitchen and dining area and create an open light-filled haven. The stylish blue kitchen with slimline porcelain benchtops and a creative splashback pop from the new neutral flooring. With another wall removed we also now had space for a third bedroom/study not originally in their plans but adding $$ to resale value and creating new space for additional guests.

The end result was beyond what we had hoped for! At our initial consultation I told Claire we wanted a brown colour palette, but Claire suggested that would be too dark and instead suggested a theme we hadn't considered - navy - taking in references from the Pacific Ocean surrounding us. I was concerned about it being "too beachy" but as you can see Claire's styling managed to create a space that is modern and sophisticated without feeling too typical like other beachside apartments. We are over the moon.
